Well, there’s a “New Name” contest going on at our dear old company, and many other operators might be curious if not confused about all the changes.
I have been involved with the Press-A-Print world since I started my home business, Martin Specialty Design way back in 1994!  For the most part, it gave us many years on the road to prosperity.  Press-A-Print has been very good to our family.  As well, I have been able to assist nearly 600 families in the U.S. and Canada succeed similarly well in our business.

Accordingly, it was rather dismaying to watch the difficulties that developed during recent years under the management of New York and Chicago investment firms.  As big city consultants swarmed through the company, cost went up and services went down.  The long-time dedicated staffers perservered courageously on behalf of us operators, but it was still difficult keeping spirits up under the pressure imposed by that uniquely Wall-Street combination of arrogance and ignorance.

So it was, with a great sense of relief that the big city guys finally sold out to the original Press-A-Print founders, Ray and Jay.  The original heart and soul was thus restored, along with a more rational, less greedy approach to investment levels and services.  It is indeed a new day at, well, . . . Contest submissions are being accepted.  The winner gets to take Jay out to dinner.

Recently, the official buy-out of assets was completed in Idaho Falls.  The new company owns the manufacturing rights to the equipment systems which will continue under the Press-A-Print brand name.  Business services and training will operate under a new banner.  Changes and improvements are underway.  “Right-sizing” will be required.  Yet, the 20-year tradition of the corporate family will continue, and that’s an exciting thing.  How often in life do we get to return to our roots and start over, only being able to do so knowing what we now know after all these years of experience?  It will be a challenge and a privilege to be involved.

This web site is an independent, yet affiliated service, among many new programs orbiting the new company, that will support Home Business Operators in the Promotions, Fundraising and Gift businesses.  I hope you will join us in the new day.
